Amerigo Vespucci

Trust my brother to tell me about a restaurant in my neighbourhood that I didn’t know about … and it’s been around for 20+ years too! 🤦‍♂️

That said, my intrigue by what this place had to offer was tempered by the thought that this might be one of those places for the business expense accounts rather than the food.

To my surprise, it turned out to be far more “local” with a good mix of couples and family groups - albeit this was on a Saturday night - that packed the place out.

From the outset, it had a very Italian old-school vibe from the waiter we got, their amusingly massive pepper grinder, and all the Italian classics on the menu.

The food was simply plated which belied its decent execution whilst the service was attentive and personal.

So, a good find by my brother and a refreshing change from all the chain restaurants in Canary Wharf.
