Ippudo - Canary Wharf

It was way back on my honeymoon that I first ate at a branch of the famed Ippudo in Japan and it still surprises me that there is now one in walking distance.

On the upside, the ramen is a good approximation of what I had in Japan, remains decently priced, and is quick which is important if you’re grabbing a work lunch.

And whilst the ramen is undoubtedly the highlight of the meal, the sides (such as a kara-age, tako-yaki, and hirata buns) aren’t an after-thought.

However, not being in Japan, it lacks the smooth and consistent service you’d get - even in a chain restaurant such as this.

That said, this is still one of the few OK options in the blandness of options in Canary Wharf.
