Sticks’n’Sushi - Canary Wharf

I still recall being at the 2012 opening of the first Sticks’n’Sushi in Wimbledon.

A decade later, they now have 9 outposts in the UK and they were a lifesaver for takeaways - breaking up the monotony of lockdown cookery.

So now, being able to dine in, it was a change to have everything straight out from the kitchen and not subject the whims of how well (or not) the food survived on the back of the moped. 😉

Especially, for the sticks which tasted better than the inevitable lukewarm temperature of having to be delivered.

Whilst we enjoyed the food and the service, the bit that I just couldn’t get my head around (especially for what they charge) that why the restaurant itself felt like eating in a cavernous canteen.

It looked stylish but it felt like designer-on-the-cheap which let down the overall experience of what this place could be.
